Foods that help resisting HINI Flu

It is important for people to be immune both physically and mentally towards the global spread of HINI flu. In addition to building up good psychological and physical quality, people can further improve immunity by eating certain foods.

1) Obtain immunity from foods

As you may aware, the immune system of human body is always keeping on fighting with virulence factors externally so as to prevent it from harm. The known virulence factors are: bacteria, virus, smoking, hard-drinking, psychological pressure, excessive sports, excessive intake of fat and the transformed cells of human body etc. The immune system produces millions of immunocyte every minute, includes: T lymphocytes, B lymphocyte, antibody producing cells, natural killer cells and phagocytic cells. In fighting constantly with the virulence factors, where can the immune system get the essential bioactive compounds to produce antibody producing cells? The answer from a research conducted by German scientists is: form foods.

Arthur Fiona, a principal research scientist from Karlsruhe Food Research Institute, Germany has studied the relationship between foods and immune system for many years. He mentioned in his recent report: "From the research on how the psychological and physical immunity resists H1N1 flu, it is clear now that foods can influence significantly on the immune system." A.Jack Bruce, an immunologist from Newfoundland University who worked jointly with Fiona, said: "It will first appear in the form of the reduction in immunocyte and change in motion activity when there is a shortage in certain nutrient substance."

Both Fiona and Bruce agreed that the bioactive compounds that impact the immune system significantly are: Vitamin A, B6, B12, C and E, Zinc, selenium, copper, iron, beta carotene, lycopene and fat mass. Some of those substances can activate hundreds of hormone and enzyme in human body which are essential to it, and some can spur on T-cells in its fighting with bacteria and virus more actively; Most of them can provide necessary substances for immune system to produce antibody cells so as to maintain the antibody at a reasonable standard. For instance, lycopene can improve the level of immunity, so the higher the lycopene volume the stronger immunity to resist H1N1 flu and less chance to the risks of pancreaticcarcinoma, intestinal cancer, prostate cancer and mammary cancer. Carotene has the similar effect as lycopene and it can weaken the harmful ultraviolet radiation to human body. A research conducted jointly by German biologists and dermatologists showed: Taking 25 mg beta carotene daily through natural channel for 12 weeks can help resisting the attack by H1N1 flu and strengthen the ability to resist ultraviolet radiation.

The scientists reckoned that immunocyte will usually perish together with etiology in the fight, which will impose heavy burden on immune system by consuming excessive immunoglobulin. That is why people need to eat scientifically, eat more foods that are helpful to maintain the function of immune system.

2) Foods that help resisting the attack of H1N1 Flue

How to improve the immunity by taking foods to keep distance with H1N1 flu and other diseases? Recently, Fiona and Bruce recommended the public the following foods.

Beef: It is a main source of zinc for human body. Zinc is a very important content in promoting the growth of leucocyte so as to help human body to prevent harmful substances, such as bacteria and virus. Even if in minor shortage of zinc, the risk to suffer from diseases is increased.

Mushrooms: It helps in promoting leucocyte in anti-infection. For a long time, people take mushrooms as a food helping in promoting immunity. Now, the team led by Fiona found that mushrooms can promote the production of leucocyte and its activities to make them much more preventive.

Yogurt: Probiotics are good in protecting intestinal tract. Yogurt is rich in probiotics which prevent the development of malignant bacteria. Furthermore, the Lactobacilli in yogurt promote the production of leukocyte in blood.

Sweet Potatoes: It helps in strengthening resistance of skin. Skin forms part of the immune system and it is the front barrier to resist bacteria and virus from outside. Vitamin A plays a very important role in connective tissue. The best way to replenish Vitamin A is to obtain beta carotene from foods. Sweet potato is rich in beta carotene and low in kcal so it is a quick way to obtain Vitamin A by taking sweet potatoes.

Tea: It helps in resisting bacteria and preventing flu. The research by Bruce showed that a great deal anti-virus interferon was formed in human body after taking 5 cups of black team per day for 2 weeks, which is about 10 times than in those who did not drink tea. The infection-resistant protein can help in preventing people from flu attack. Also, it can lessen poisoning, release wound infection, beriberi, tuberculosis and even malaria. Of course, green tea has the same effect.

Fish and shellfish: It helps replenishing selenium. Fiona's team found out that selenium helps in increasing immune proteins so as to clean flu virus from human body. Oyster, lobster, crab, clam and other seafood are the basic sources for Selenium. Omega 3 content in fishes, such as in salmon, helps producing a great deal of anti-flu cells in blood so as to improve immunity of human body.

Garlic: Garlicin is good at anti-infection and anti-bacteria. The experiment by Fiona's team showed the incidence for catching flu was reduced by 2/3 by eating garlic. The incidence to suffer from colon and gastric Cancer is rare in those who chew garlic often. Therefore, it is advisable to take 2 petals of garlic a day and put some garlic mince in food when cooking.

Oat and barley: They are rich in fibrin and good at anti-oxidation. There are beta glucan in oat and barley. The fibrin functions in anti-bacteria and anti-oxidation. Immunity can be improved by eating oat and barley. They can help in accelerating wound healing and assisting antibiotics effect best.

Orange: It is rich in Vitamin C. To replenish Vitamin C at a proper amount will help improve immunity of human body. A healthy man shall replenish Vitamins by eating fruits. Orange can excite human body to release interferon so as to lessen the connection between leukocyte and virus.

Longan: It is rich in protein and iron. It can promote reproduction of hemoglobin while increasing heat energy and replenishing nutrition. It helps in curing insomnia, forgettery, flu and fever etc.

Hawthorn: Main functions of hawthorn are: Help digest, protect cardiovascular, reduce blood-fat and pressure, anti-bacteria, reduce weight, anti-cancer, clean free radicals and strengthen immunity.

Bean curd: It functions at anti-oxidation. The phytoestrogen content in bean curd helps prevent vascular endothelial cell from oxidation and its soybean protein forms part of antibacterial drug.

Walnut: It is rich in some special Vitamins. It can lessen the intake of cholesterin by intestinal tract. It can directly restrain bacteria and inflammation, so it is suitable to eat in bacteria-flooding season.

Myotonin: Its germ is rich in polysaccharide, Vitamin B and E. They can strengthen immunity and enhance the function of immunocyte.

Sweet black rice: Vitamin B and E contain abundantly in its rice bran and germ. They are good at improving immunity, promoting blood circulation, release depression and agitation so as to be full of vigour.

Propolis: It can promote the ability of scavenger cell so as to keep immunity in optimal and balance. It is called a "natural immune promoter."

Ginger: It can promote blood circulation, expel algidity, prevent and cure cold. The gingerol can produce antioxidase in human body. The effect is better than Vitamin.

Spirulina: It is rich in carotene, Vitamin E and other Vitamins. It can promote PH value in humor, neutralize acidic constitution so as to make it to be sub-alkalinity, improve immunity, resist cancer and Aids.
